Find the clues, solve the puzzle and escape! That’s what the good folks at CodeBreakers live for and they filled Cityscape in on some of the adventures to be had at their two locations.
You’re stuck in a room with your friends and the clock is ticking on your escape – the team at CodeBreakers are masters at setting up quirky, challenging and entertaining scenarios for you to break out of. These guys recently had a makeover and changed their name from Crate Escape to CodeBreakers and with the new name comes a whole raft of new escape adventures! An escape room is just that, with a tricky scenario thrown in for good measure. The aim is to work in a team to uncover clues, crack codes, solve puzzles and complete your mission, which is to get out – all within 60 minutes. Sounds fun, right? You’ll discover various themes at each location – you can find the hidden treasure in the Lost Hut of Antarctica, become a real-life James Bond in Operation Mindfall, steal the Mona Lisa in Art Heist, fix a suspicious supercomputer in Into The Dark, or stop a maniacal time traveller in The Misadventures of Max Magnus. You’ll need to use your wits and follow the clues to find a way to freedom. Our hot tip is to crank that handle, plug in that cable and take a closer look at that map on the wall – literally everywhere you look is a potential clue to solve the riddle and move on to the next before getting out. There are loads of different clues and puzzles in each of the themed rooms, with some digital puzzles for the tech head, tactile puzzles for the hands on, and cryptic puzzles for the math whizzes out there. To be crowned victorious, you’ll have to work together and keep your thinking cap on to get out of the room, all while having a bit of a laugh. So, if you’re looking for something a little out-of-the-box to do with friends, families, your partner or as a team-building exercise, you needn’t look any further than CodeBreakers. Check them out at 166 St Asaph Street or 492 Colombo Street. They can accommodate groups of two to 60 at a time, too!
